WHAT IS IT?
The µVision IDE automatically generates a Computer ID (CID) that uniquely identifies a computer or workstation. This 10-digit, alphanumeric number (XXXXX-XXXXX) contains parameters pulled from things like hard disk ID, MAC address, operating system information and date. The Keil Product Licensing web pages use this information to construct a unique License ID Code (LIC) for this computer.

WHY IS IT CHANGING?
The CID changes daily because it contains current date information. The changing date will not affect your LIC, and is no cause of concern. So for a reinstall of the Keil tools on the same computer, it is OK to reuse a LIC.

If the parameters that make the the CID changes significantly, e.g., a computer gets new hardware or a new Operating System OS), then the License Management Dialog may issue a R200: RENEW LICENSE ID CODE (LIC) or R201: INVALID LICENSE ID CODE (LIC) error message.

ANSWER

To find the CID,

1. Download and install the Keil tools from Keil Download Products Page.
2. Open up the Keil µVision® IDE.
3. Go to File → License Management - the License Management Dialog opens.
4. The CID is on the top right corner of the dialog (see below).
